Gun Media and Illfonic have announced that their upcoming multiplayer survival horror game based on the Friday The 13th movie franchise, which had a placeholder release date for this month, has been delayed until Spring 2017.

The announcement was made via the game’s Kickstarter page yesterday. Luckily, there is a silver lining, as the team has provided a concrete reason for the delay, rather than the usual wishy-washy “we want to use the extra time to ensure we give the fans the best gaming experience”.

The reason for the delay is the additional of a single-player experience and the inclusion of AI bots. The team has also announced the inclusion of Tommy Jarvis – arguably Jason’s greatest nemesis, as well as a new map based on Friday The 13th: Part Two’s Packanack Lodge. The update also gives a provisional release schedule, pricing update for digital and physical copies of the game, and some Jason cosplay photos from Scarefest amongst others.
