Third Party Wireless Controller "Trident PRO-S" Available Now for Nintendo Switch

Players looking for an affordable wireless controller for their Nintendo Switch have been out of luck as of late. The only options being the official Pro Controller which costs a small fortune or nothing at all. Game Devil is looking to change that with the release of their Trident PRO-S Controller, one of the first third-party wireless controllers for the Nintendo Switch.

Just like the official controller, the Trident PRO-S Controller has been designed to be easy to use and connect as well as offer low-latency gaming. It features dual analogue sticks as well as extended triggers to allow for precise movement. It also comes equipt with a turbo mode – perfect for all those arcade games on the eShop at the moment!

Unless you’ve been living under a gaming sized rock recently, you’ll probably know that D-Pads are a hot topic, with many gamers complaining about the designs on controllers left, right and centre. No one is ever going to be happy with the default style, so Game Devil has opted for a removable D-Pad on the Trident PRO-S – allowing gamers to chose their prefered style.

Admittedly, it doesn’t support amiibo use or motion controls but considering it’s price point I’m not sure that’s a major issue for a third-party accessory.

“Game Devil is a brand with an eye on expansion and we pride ourselves on being able to provide high-quality peripherals and accessories at remarkable value to gamers worldwide. We’re thrilled to be shipping one of the first ever Switch controllers to European gamers,” said Ali Manzuri, Product Development Manager for Game Outlet. “Serving as a highlight to our new Nintendo Switch range of products, the Switch Trident PRO-S Controller delivers a great alternative to official controllers, for those who want performance at a smart price. Offering superb value for money, we think the PRO-S will prove a hit for those serious about their Switch gaming.”

The Trident PRO-S is available now from Amazon for £27.00, that’s over half the price of the official controller.

Let us know if you’ve picked one of these up for your Switch and feel free to sound off in the comments on how well it handles.
