After Wednesday’s official reveal of Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu & Let’s Go Eevee there has been a lot of confusion around the status of online play. According to Serebii.com Japanese magazine, Famitsu has some confirmation.

According to the popular Japanese magazine, Famitsu, Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu & Let’s Go Eevee will feature online battles and trades and will require the use of the Nintendo Online service (releasing later this year).

The games will lack features such as the GTS, Wonder Trade and Battle Spot, The Pokémon Company has confirmed that they want the online for these titles to be simplified.

We can look forward to these features returning in 2019 when the next Core Pokémon game is released on the Switch.
