Minecraft Bedrock Server Files Now Available
Author: Sam Tree | Posted: 17 September 2018, 09:42

Earlier this month Mojang sneakily released the server files for the bedrock edition of Minecraft.

Without too much of a fanfare it would seem – perhaps not to take too much attention from the companies own hosting platform, Realms – Mojang has released the server files for their Bedrock version of Minecraft; the version that allows players on multiple platforms to play together.

While unofficial builds have been available for some time, this is the first time that Mojang has made available the server software to the general public.

The server files are offered in both Windows and Linux format and will allow gamers to run their own servers be it on a VPN or a box sitting in their cupboards at home. It’s important to note, however, that the server software is currently in its alpha stage so you might encounter a few bugs. At the time of writing the files available work with the most recent version of Minecraft, 1.6.

We’ll be hosting our own server soon, so keep an eye on the front page for more information!
