Codemasters has today announced a follow-up to the popular rally game DiRT Rally with DiRT Rally 2.0.

The sequel makes a return to the simulation style of off-road racing that made the original a hit with gamers. Codemasters promises “incredible hand-crafted stages” which will see players tackle rally locations around the world with eight of the official WorldRX circuits being made available at launch; DiRT 2.0 will be the official game of the FIA World Rallycross Championship presented by Monster Energy.

In a press release sent out this morning, Chief Games Designer at Codemasters, Ross Gowing said the following:

“We are thrilled to finally be able to talk about DiRT Rally 2.0, Rally is incredibly important to Codemasters and the entire team is absolutely dedicated to creating the most authentic experience possible in a game.”

He continued to say:

“Our passionate, knowledgeable community helped to make DiRT Rally a special title. We have been working with a selection of that community alongside a roster of real-world rally drivers to ensure that we meet their high standards, we are not afraid to make a challenging game. Driving a rally car down a stage is not easy and we want players to experience that same adrenaline rush from driving on the edge.”

Codemasters has also confirmed that all pre-order editions of the game will have access to the Porsche 911 RGT Rally Spec as a bonus vehicle to use. The Deluxe Edition of DiRT Rally 2.0 will come with the first two seasons of DLC; each comes with three locations split between rally and rallycross, as well as early access to five new vehicles (Ford Escort MkII, Lancia Stratos, Subaru Impreza 1995, AUDI Sport quattro S1 E2 and Ford Fiesta OMSE SuperCar Lite).

In addition, the Deluxe Edition will also allow players to get their hands on the game four days early as well as including upgraded starter cars for My Team and extra in-game bonuses.

DiRt Rally 2.0 is due for release on the 26th of February 2019 for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
