Recently revived Mad Catz has announced a new range of gaming mice in their R.A.T range.
Once a staple in every gamers collection, Mad Catz accessories were commonplace. After a surprise resurrection earlier this year, the company has confirmed a number of new products are now shipping; with more to come.
Building on their popular R.A.T brand, the company have confirmed a number of new entries:
The R.A.T.4+, which features industry-leading OMROM switches with an expected lifecycle of 20 million clicks. This mouse has been designed to provide flawless precision with its Pixart PMW 3330 optical sensor.
The R.A.T.6+ builds on the idea of customisation. It comes with 9 programmable buttons as well as an adjustable palm rest for gamers with bigger hands. In addition, it features a removable weight system to allow gamers to get the heft of the mouse just right for their own needs. The R.A.T6+ also features Chameleon RGB Intelligent Lighting which can illuminate the device across three separate zones with over 16 million lighting combinations. The OMRON switches in this bad boy are good for 50 million clicks.
Next up is the R.A.T.8+. Designed with professional gamers in mind, the R.A.T.8+ features a state of the art Pixart PMW 3389 optical sensor which has been designed to deliver unrivalled precision for any game. Like it’s smaller sibling, the R.A.T6+, the 8+ also features an adjustable palm rest with the addition of an adjustable thumb rest and removable pinkie grip. The removable weights are included as well along with the Chameleon RGB Lighting. Onboard memory allows gamers to save up to three different profiles which allow for a personalised macro button, sensors and lighting settings. Perfect for on-the-fly profile swapping between travelling and tournaments.
Lastly is the R.A.T. Pro S3; a lightweight, ergonomic mouse which concentrates on delivering the essentials. The Pro S3 sports the Pixart PMW 3330 sensor as well as the 50 million clickers per life OMRON switches. The palm rest is fully adjustable and the device also features the Chameleon RGB lighting.
“Since announcing our comeback earlier in the year, gamers have inundated us with requests for new R.A.T. mice, and the passion and enthusiasm we’ve encountered from the community is truly inspiring. We’ve been working hard to ensure the new products do justice to the incredible Mad Catz legacy and we’re delighted to start shipping the first products in the new range,” said Selena Chang, Director of Sales and Operations for Mad Catz Global Limited, “The R.A.T. range continues to be a beacon of innovation and we’re confident gamers will be thrilled with the new mice, which we believe offer superb value and unsurpassed quality for all budgets and gaming abilities.”
